I would say once they are a year old the color of their eye shine will not change, but like all things I am sure there can be an exception or two. I have only ever seen 1 shade of green and I have seen them on dogs with a hard silk coat and with a true silk. You can tell the difference by look at and feeling the coat. Hard silks are usually black, shiny and difficult to obtain any length of coat on without diligence and delicate wrapping. We had one years ago, but placed her in a pet home.

If you look at JoJo on our website she is soft coated and the only one we have with a red eye shine. She is Jezebel's mom and although she is not silky she has a very important place here for us, she is very difficult to fault otherwise. Her eye shine looks just like the red one posted above. The green eye shine is very bright green, again just like above.
