Wink Thank You for Welcoming Home My Baby Lola!

I'm very sorry I was not able to respond to all of your wonderful messages. I was not able to get on-line due to my stupid “Comcast Modem” and Lola also had to have surgery… much soon then I had expected. So as you can see I was very busy! When things finally settled down... I got my modem back on-line and saw all of these wonderful messages from all of you. What a wonderful surprise!

I wanted to "Thank" each and every one of "You" for sending so many warm wishes to Lola and me. So many people responded that I was not going to be able to write you all… and I’m sorry for that. So I will try to answer a lot of the questions that some of you had.

The Lola Story!

As we arrived home with our joyful package of pure love on Sunday, May 25, 2008. We couldn’t wait to show her off to the rest of our fur- babies (Jasper and Sophia Marie (our two cats), and Yogi is our African Grey Parrot). Things went very well. You see, Lola had lived with cats before so she didn't even care what they were doing or when they were doing it. I think this made them a little mad and confused.

Okay, stop The Lola Story! Something so funny just happened and I'm laughing so hard!!!

My husband just got up to go outside and smoke one of those nasty cigarettes, and Lola jumped up because she heard the front door. Without even thinking I said, "Its okay Lee-Lee (Lola) It's okay!, Daddy is going outside to go pee-pee!" I was definitely rolling with laughter! I could not believe this came out of my mouth. My husband said, "I think I will go to jail if I do that Mommy!" hehehe… we both got a big laugh out of it!

Okay, so back to our first days with our little Lola Bean.

Before going to sleep that night I started brushing her out, brushing her teeth, cleaning her eyes, ears and getting her into her new jammie's for bed. This is when I found she had a very… very… loose mauler. It was so loose it was hanging from her gums. So this is why she wasn't eating!
First thing in the morning… I called my Vet and scheduled her for a Dental and Spay visit (a.s.a.p.) her appointment was set for Thursday morning. This was only going to be her 4th day with us. I really wanted to wait until she was more familiar with us and our home, before having her undergo surgery. But it was not something that I had much control over. Her health was now in charge of her appointment schedule. I was so nervous the day of her visit, I started shopping and then, when I couldn't shop no more… I started cleaning. I cleaned my ceiling fans, window, door jams, etc. I was a wreck!
During her surgery I also had them clean her teeth, remove the hair from her ears, and clean her anal gland (something I knew nothing about). When she was all done with surgery she ended up with having 4 of her teeth removed. They were very loose teeth that had to come out. It Was So Sad! But at least she will not have to undergo anesthesia in another 6 months. It's very hard on these little bodies to go under any more then they need to. I'm glad they took care of everything all at once. But I’m very sad to say, she is without four of her teeth now. She had two maulers (one on each side) and two front teeth on the bottom. Now, just two days after surgery, she is eating again. Yeah!

I found out a lot about Ms. Lola that I didn’t know about her. Her records had been faxed over so that she could have her surgery. I didn’t know how old she was, how many pregnancies she had, or if she was updated on her shots, or anything else for that matter. I knew in my heart that she was coming from a very well known Breeder. So, I knew that she had been update on her shots, Micro-Chipped and treated very very well. I wasn't that worried, I just wanted to know everything about her.

Our little Ms. Lola is 4 year 10 months old (DOB Aug. 5, 2008). She weighs 4.6oz. and She also had delivered one litter, which was delivered by C-Section... but her 3 little babies had died just a couple of days later. My poor baby, I had no idea!

Even though I thought she was some were around 3-4 years old... I would not have cared if she turned out to be 7-8 years old. She has one of the very best souls I have ever seen. She is just a total angel! She is so patient with everyone who approaches her (including me). She does not bark, chew, have accidental potties or misbehave in anyway. I never would have thought I would have a dog so well behaved. She is Just Perfect! I'm so glad I waited for so long to find my soul-mate. It sure was worth each and every month that we waited. Every dream I ever thought about when having a Yorkie... has finally come true. I am truly blessed by my baby Lola!

I've taken some photos of our past days together and I hope you enjoy them. Even though Lola Bean was in so much pain... she still shows so much love and affection!
