I use the Tick Twister (in your earlier link) and it works very well. It is a bit disconcerting, though, when you hear a little "click" as the tick lets go. Even using that gadget, one of my dogs had a little scab where the tick had latched on but it dropped off after a few days and no harm done. Doesn't hurt to keep a close eye on it though.

What a shame these expensive tick/flea medications don't always work as they are supposed to even when you apply them EXACTLY as instructed
