Something with aloe or oatmeal - Vet Solutions Shampoo, Hylyte, etc. I have used Frontline since its inception on my older yorkie and have NEVER seen a flea or tick on him. We live in Tennessee and the fleas and ticks are really bad her also.
i have being using frontline since lottie got a flea last year and havent had any problems since. It does say tho that you should use it monthly if you bathe your dog every week rather than the 5wks they recommend and also to leave atleast 48hrs before you bathe your dog as the frontline uses the dogs natural oils to disperse the flea treatment, so i usually give it to lottie a day or so after her weekly bath.
Tho ive never heard of not being able to use a flea shampoo as well, and i use johnsons flea shampoo around lotties head along with other another shampoo and a conditoner for the rest of her coat
