It was just a couple of weeks ago that my little Daisy went through a pancreatitis episode. She had eaten an entire bowl of catfood at a relative's house before I could stop her. We were lucky: she became very, very ill but survived.
It just frightens me to hear people talk about giving their little ones pork, peanut butter, and other high fat foods. Their little pancreas cannot handle such foods. We are strictly low fat at our house after this scare, and consider those items at the pet store to be for Great Danes, or some other breed of big dog whose body can handle the fat intake.
Please, Yorkie Lovers, please listen to this warning from Swtnutns!! Pancreatitis in these little ones is no small matter!
By the way, if you or your friends have Schnauzers, according to my vet, Schnauzers are even more prone to pancreatitis than Yorkies. Spread the word to them as well.

Hi, I have my 3yr. old yorkie on Evo Dog food, both wet & dry, one of best, but in the entire Denver Co. area no one was carrying the small cans. I had several stores say Evo cat food was almost the same and ok. One person who worked for one of the stores, also worked at a Animal hospital, and said absolutely do not give it, its bad for their liver. After reading this blog, I think all dog owners need to be aware of this. Every one needs to know that many pet stores will sell anything for profit, and it could be fatal for their precious pets. I only feed the Evo food, and cooked chicken with peas & carrots to my little Lacie.
