I think if you are truly interested in breeding, take the next year or so to fully research the yorkie breed, whelping and such. I would highly recommend finding someone local to maybe be able to "intern" on the whole breeding & whelping process.

You will find that everyone has their own way & strong opinions of doing things but hands on experience beats all. There are many experienced breeders here who can and maybe do do it with their eyes closed. Listen to these people's advice, there will be different opinions but if you can soak it all up and it will help you find your middle ground or your comfortable spot. Like anything else, education is key!

The breeder's of Yorkies are truly the most passionate type of breeders there are! Course...its kind of hard not to be passionate about yorkies when the little monsters take your heart hostage.
