I took my little Huey to the vet last Friday to get a shot and after he started to walk around like he couldn't breathe. I was concerned and the vet said that it is very common in little dogs, esp. Yorkies. He said the their trechia is c shaped instead of a circle. He said that they panic when they cannot get enough air in and make those noises. He said usually they can calm themselves down enough to breathe normally, but sometimes they cannot, and they have to surgery to have something put in to keep it open. Sometimes my Huey will do that after drinking. The vet said to pick him up and stroke his fur until he settles down, because he is scared. I hope this helps. |
