I feed my Yorkies 1/8 cup Canidae morning and evening plus a tsp. of yogurt and a tsp. of applesauce or mushed green beans. I used to feed more but I woke up when one of my Yorkies had to have LP surgery and the vet said she was too fat. Her other knee has stabilized since she lost weight.
That is exactly what my vet said but they always seem hungry to me, they all have their own little bowls and I fill them up in the morning before I go to work, when I get out of work around 5:30 I fill their bowls again and they eat every last kibble then around 9 you see them going to their bowls again to see if there is something to eat and it looks to me like they are hungry, even though I do give them treats throughout the day, one thing though I might add my baby's play all day long once I get home we are outside and the balls come out and you have to see my baby's run after that ball and we don't just play for 1 hr they can keep going and going, I think they burn off alot of the calories they take in throughout the day that by 9 at night they are hungry again. I will try to ignore the fact that they are at their bowls looking for more food but I just can never tell if my babies are full or not.
