I wish I would of seen this before purchasing my puppy. This breeder has apparently been in this business for 40 years now and I was too stupid to ask for a purchase agreement! Two weeks after getting my puppy, he had to be hospitalized because he had a foreign body in his stomach. When they opened up his intestines, they found a nipple from a puppy bottle in his gut and I KNOW FOR A FACT that it came from the breeder's home! When I called to tell her that my medical bill came out to $2,500, she basically told me to shove it. I told her I would send her a picture of the nipple and she told me to put it in a jar and stare at it all day for all she cared.
Shouldn't she be responsible for this?
I remember that when I went to visit her home, it was filthy! She had over 75 dogs running around everywhere, even puppies, all over the place without being closely supervised. I saw a bucket of cigarette butts outside from her grandkid's smoking habit, easily reachable for puppies to ingest, the room she took me to was her grandkid's room and it smelled like dog poop! There was poop on the bed, all over the carpet, food mixed in there, too. I almost threw up! I felt so sorry for the dogs! When i met the parents she said the parents were Mariah and Joe and when I got home with the paperwork, the names changed to Mariah and Mac. I do want to get reimbursed for my medical expenses and don't know if not getting a purchase agreement from her will hurt me in court.
What would a right breeder do in this case?
