Thanks for all your help guys! He is now past the crying stage and she is safely out of heat, but he developed some soft stool as a result of all the upsetment and he was quite testy with our 5 month old (Cleo) once Princess went out of heat. It could have been that he was just not feeling well too.

I guess having another male would not be a good idea. They are all getting along like peas in a pod now, but Cleo is a little leary of him still. I have started training with them now and am reading a book by Ceasar and trying to be the pack leader more. It's amazing what a few simple changes in the routine/household can do for a doggie situation.
