She's not as playful or affectionate as she was before her heat. Is this normal? Will her puppy personality return?
First, I would like to welcome you to Yorkie Talk. Like Sonya said, your puppies behavior is common for a female just having been in heat. When a female is in heat, whether she is bred or not, they all go through the same hormonal changes as if she were pregnant. Usually, magically about 63 days after the heat cycle began your puppy will start being her old self again. She may also experience a false pregnancy. If you are not planning on breeding your female then it would be best to have her spayed, otherwise, you will be dealing with these mood changes every time she come in heat.
