My guess is it is a lack of necessary hormoes due to her age and being spayed. Your vet should check a sample for any kind of infections first though. We have a female Brittney Spaniel who developed the same problem at about 3 years of age and it just kept getting worse, and she started to be a bit depressed, finally we had the vet prescribe DES (artificial hormones). She nows takes the pill once a week and it has made a huge difference in the leaking and her attitude.
