I am so sorry for your loss. Many of us on this forum have furbabies from not such good places. Mine come from a puppymill, two from byb, and another is from a rescue. None of us knew better. I know better now, but I still have my darlings that I will do anything for even if they are not perfect. After your heart is healed you will run across another little Yorkie that will melt your heart. Then you will know it is time. Some members get another Yorkie quite soon after their loss and they say it helps them think about something else. Others have to wait until the pain isn't quite as sharp.
