If I were in your shoes, I'd contact my vet and follow his/her directions -- providing that your health care professional is experienced with small dogs in general and Yorkies in particular.
There have been many Yorkie owners (some very responsible, some not) who have been in your position. You might do some searches and see if you can find YTers who have had this happen and send them a pm and ask about their experiences.
