My school always has graduation outdoors, the weather is always beautiful... well, not this year! It was pouring rain! It was known that there was a chance for rain for a few days before graduation and the administration of my school did NOT come up with a plan B. I'm so angry. Our ceremony was like 3 minutes long. There were NO SPEECHES and NO READING OF NAMES! I had family drive for hours and stay at hotel the night before... I had friends fly in from Washington... and this is what we get?! I payed $2000/semester EACH (hubby and I) so that we could basically have a canceled ceremony?! We were already drenched and miserable... so why not read off our damn names?! It makes me sad.
We graduated with BA's in Math, and our faculty are amazing. They felt sorry for us so we had our own little "ceremony" in a classroom where they read our names and we got to hug all our professors. It was incredibly sweet of them, but it still wasn't the same.
We will be attending the University of Denver this fall for graduate school. So I just keep telling myself that when I graduate from DU, that I'll get the ceremony I deserved lol.
Sorry for the rant...
Here's a picture of us before we got soaked. |
I'm so sorry you didn't have a beautiful day for your graduation, I know how long you must have waited for this special day. Congratulations and best of luck in graduate school.
