I would go back to the vet. Wylie had ear problems for the longest time and his old vet kept saying it was nothing (grrrr). We went to a new vet and I was all "is it yeast, is it this/that - should we do a culture?" - and she said no - we should just use an ointment that treats it, no matter which one it is. Can't recall the name - but it must've been a wide-spectrum ointment that treated pretty much everything. We treated for 10 days - and it made his ears oily - and then almost his entire head - so it's pretty messy - but WOW, it cleaned up his ears FINALLY!
