There is what is called a puppy cut, where the hair is cut short all over the body. It's up to you if you want to cut it or shave. I cut Oscar's hair, but I definitely don't brag about it, lol. I'm no hair stylist that's for sure, but I love his hair short and I HATE paying $60 for grooming. It's fun though, and I can practice whenever I want, lol I don't know if either of my two would let me near them with a shaver — if yours is nervous because of the noise, you could try just letting him get used to the sound of the shaver first over the course of a few days. If you decide to use scissors, you may want to get some with a blunt tip (especially for the face area) so that if he moves suddenly the tip won't poke him.
