I know exactly what you are saying...I have 7 kids...(4 step sons, and my own 2 daughters and 1 son) and as they leave the nest the house seems bigger and emptier....only two at home full time now...I got KiKi in February and she is just as much one of my kids as the rest of the bunch...and she is my first (and only) dog and I never imagined loving her SO SO SO much!! I love to cuddle her and hold her like a baby and caress her face and talk to her.....just like I did when the skin kids were babies....
