These are the things I would do/want to know:
Preop bloodwork done and I personally would do a bile acid test before their first surgery (some people believe doing bile acid testing is going overboard though).
Surgery must be done on a heated surface (toy breeds lose body heat quickly).
Pain meds must be offered.
Isoflurane or sevoflurane anesthesia should be used to maintain but usually something else is used before intubation.
If the dogs need to stay their overnight, someone needs to be there the whole time, awake with them.
Great feedback, thank you

So... we ended up postponing their operation until this week because my hubby did not want to put them through it...he still doesnt, but he sees the bigger picture. The timing works out great now as well. Both of them will be done tomorrow morning. Their bloodwork was done... as i've mentioned, Jenna's cell count was double in her pancreas...but the vet doesnt seem worried because she has not shown any symptoms for inflammation of the organ.

Vet has talked about pain meds and antibiotics. Everything seems in order.
I'm not as scared as I was...i've done my research... but i'm still worried... its such a serious procedure.

So I guess tomorrow is the big day... <big sigh>
