i am supposed to take it three times a day.. this is day 6 and i am supposed to take it for 10 days. There ins't a "doctor on call"... i've actually never heard of that.... Canada must be different.... so i'm definitly not going to take it tonight... i think since i've had it in my system for so long it's causing this heart thing more regularly.. not just after i take it (like it was doing on day 1 and 2) so i'm going to call first thing in the morning

I actually had a patient stop breathing on her 18th dose of Gentamycin.
Just because you start out ok, doesnt mean at some point you wont have a worse reaction.
YOU know I did think of the whole canada thing when I first wrote the post. I have worked with a lot of Canadian nurses.
In america, We have a doctor from each group on call. We call the answering service and tell them what the issue is and the on call doctor will call and tell you what to do. Of course if it is an emergency, we would call the emergency transport service. I have a lot of doctor friends too and have been out with them when they were on call

We never can go an hour with out a call..lol,... oh well, that is why they make the big bucks right?
I hope they get to the bottom of things first thing in the morning!
