I don't know if an English Bulldog and a Yorkie will work unless your yorkie is a big one. I have a Standard Poodle and she gets along great with my Teddi (yorkie) because she just pushes her around with her nose. My friend has a mini bull dog and I would never trust her dog with Teddi. Because of their stature they tend to use their body to play and it is way too rough for Teddi. I have found this with bull dogs and pugs (dogs that are stocky with short legs).
