Susie, may I give you some advice? Don't wait for your pain med time-line if you are in need. The pain will cause you added stress, so just take the pill earlier, write it down and it sounds like you have a pinched nerve. I found that 4 hours was too long and my threshold was more like 3-3.5 hours. Have you tried ice packs on your low back to reduce the swelling?

Yes, I was taking them as soon as I possibly could - 2 - 2 1/2 hrs apart but it just wasn't enough. Was doing ice and heat on my back and leg. I couldn't handle it tho and had to call 911 in the night Sunday. They kept me until this afternoon to help me manage the pain. No more steriod injections in the spine tho. Did the morphine IV for 1 1/2 days and then tapered off and am back on the pain patch and oral pain meds. I'm better today but still hurting way too much. I'm not supposed to sit and post but wanted to let you all know why I wasn't posting the last couple of days. So, I'm headed back to my bed now.
Don't remember who posted it, but Tink is getting water therapy, I thot I had posted that earlier. I can't have that again until the wound is completely healed and there is no risk of infection. You're right - it is very helpful therapy.
Tink is the same - no change, and that is good. I'll try to post again in a day or two.
