I guess the two main concerns I would have are hypoglycemia and injuries due to them jumping off the couch or bed. Many people keep a tube of Nutri-Cal or Karo Syrup (the white kind) on hand for small puppies, they can use their calorie reserves very quickly. If gums are white or puppy acts dazed and confused rub some Nurti-cal on the roof of their mouths ASAP. We keep steps by the couch and bed and taught Joey at an early age how to use them, but sometimes they get excited and still try to jump, so this is something that needs to be guarded for.
