Maggie hurt her leg running down the driveway. I took her to the vet yesterday and they determined that she tore her ACL. They are telling us that surgery will cost between $1200 and $1400. I've been reading threads and it looks like it is about 50/50 whether to have or not have the surgery.

This came at a bad time and we really don't have $1400 for this surgery. however, we will work it out and do what "is Best" for Maggie. She is about 5 yrs old. We have the consultation with the surgeon tonight. I have a feeling that he will say that surgery is the best option.

Please help. We are up for suggestions and would like to hear other's past experiences.
