I would be leary of anyone offering show quality puppies...if the puppy was under 6 months of age. I don't think it can really be known until a later age.
Some pet only qualities are apparent earlier...such as having a overbite, underbite, sometimes a puppy is larger...those are just some things that come to mind. Someone breeding quality yorkies can certainly spot other things...we novices do not.
