 Skittles lil guy, help needed
Well it looks as if Skittles is picking on/ rejecting the smallest pup. I am assuming it’s because I am handling him more than the others or maybe she realizes he is the smallest. Not all the time but a few times during the day she will pick him up and put him in the other lil bed I have next to her and go back to her other 3 pups. Or she will even take him off the teat. He is not putting on weight like he should be and I think that is due to him not being a stronger sucker like his brothers. I say that cuz I put him on a teat and sit there and watch over him for a good while. My husband and I have been rotating watching over him. I will be getting an eye dropper and start supplementing him. Since he is sucking maybe the eye dropper will help him and in a week or so his sucking reflex will be stronger. I'll still keep puttin him on the teat in between the eye dropper feedings. Is there anything else I should be doing? |
