I managed to get it all out using a sterilised pin and a pair of very thing tweezers, made sure i cleaned it all up with disinfectent and put some antiseptic cream on it, today its look fine no sign of infection.

Ellie May im going to get one of those but it wouldnt have been any use with the little bit that was left in her skin.

Juliealfies mum lottie will be 2 in august!

ARCHIE ive read the small print that came with my frontline and it says that it doesnt prevent all ticks from attaching to the dog but will kill them with in the first 24/48hrs and will either drop off or have to be removed.

thanks to all who replied
i read a lot of "wives tales" online as to how to get rid of ticks most of which would make the matters worse.

But did find this good bit of advice!
"Do not use ‘petroleum jelly’, any liquid solution, freeze or burn the tick, as this will stimulate it to regurgitate its stomach contents, increasing the chances of infection."
