I'm not criticizing you, I'm telling you to wake up and smell the coffee. How will she not let you get a job? Don't let others make you a victim. The money you spent on the puppies could have been used to make an apartment payment. Sometimes you have to give up short-term rewards in order to reach long-term goals.

Most hospitals have social workers that can help granny get the care she needs, have your fiancé ask the doctor about this. Not everyone is cut out to be a caretaker, it sounds like this job is too tough for you. Get a job, save your money, and get out as soon as possible. Honestly, option A would be the right choice in most cases, but just because you thought B was a possible choice, I had to choose C. B should never be an option.

My dad had brain cancer, and lived over 10 years with it, while my mother was sick with Alzheimer disease, I was their caretaker, and I know this is a tough job, and not worth all the money in the world, the ONLY way I could do it was that I loved them so much. I know they were treated with love, kindness, and dignity. I don't think I could have done such a fine job in my twenties.
