I guess time goes fast.. he was 23 I thought I had lost a couple of years.. and saw may 23 and thought it said he was 23.. sorry.. he really was 21...downed the 23rd. and I kinda wondered if there was drinking involved.. kids just do not realize and think these things will never happen to them..here is what the papers said..anne
A Levack man who drowned in Mosquito Lake May 23 was not wearing a life jacket, police said.
OPP divers found the body of David Thaddeus White, 21 the day after he was reported missing.
His body was recovered in 2.5 metres of water, police said in a release.
Alcohol is also believed to be a factor in the drowning.
Sudbury OPP officers received a report of a missing fisherman around 12:45 a.m. May 23.
Officers with the OPP marine unit along with the assistance of the Greater Sudbury Police Service’s marine unit attended the scene to conduct a search on the water. An OPP Emergency Response Team was dispatched to begin a ground search of the shore. The OPP helicopter and underwater search & recovery unit also helped in the search. A post mortem was conducted on Monday and the cause of death was confirmed to be a drowning, police said.
A funeral mass for White is scheduled Wednesday morning at St. Stephen the Martyr Church in Dowling.
