Logan is having a repeat bile acids test June 3 (next Tuesday). It takes a couple of days to get the results, so I should know something the end of next week. Our dilemma is what to do if the results are abnormal. The emergency clinic vet I talked to yesterday said if we can't or won't afford the surgery and additional tests, we could keep Logan comfortable as long as possible, and then when he shows severe symptoms, put him to "sleep." He is showing no signs now. We could find someone to adopt him (for free), but it's difficult to find someone to take on such a huge expense, knowing that the puppy may not survive the operation or the operation may not be successful. There's no sense in worrying about it until we have the test done and get the results. But, still, I think about it and wonder which option would be the best. The vet did not recommend giving Logan back to the breeder because he will probably just put him down immediately.
