Laura,
How did you find out what she was allergic to? Did she go through allergy testing? I am concerned that Topper has allergies but I don't want to put him through the testing. I assume they test pets the same as humans with several needles...can you say phobia!!!
Thanks
Hi. After spending so much money on trips to the vet trying to figure out what she is allergic to I finally spent the money to get a blood allergy test. The skin one was over 800 here and #1 I could not afford that and #2 the test was crazy..shaving her, pricking her, etc. so i opted out of that one.
The blood allergy test, i am told by my vet, is pretty accurate as far as environmental allergies but can be off with the food. What I do know is, I am glad to have at least a list of things to avoid for now until they get under control. it's just hard to find a food that doesnt have at least one of those ingredients. chicken is a huge one..i figured it out long before the test, but the others i was surprised. so once i get her under total control i might introduce some things back and see what happens. another suggestion from the vet was allergy shots, but there is no proven effectiveness and its very expensive. hope this helps!!
