I had a little 5-week-old who was very ill....too young to be away from her mommy, but it was a special circumstance and her mommy wouldn't let her nurse...long story.

Anyway, she came from bad circumstances where she was in a crate all the time alone. Dogs typically will not go where they sleep, so she was just going in the corner of her crate because she had no choice and that's all she knew.

So, what I did was put a fleece crate bed in there with blankets touching every surface of the bottom of the crate in hopes that she would not go on the blankets since that's where she was sleeping, and they don't like to go where they sleep. I was taking her out of her crate every 1 1/2 - 2 hours for feedings around the clock, so I would also place her on a pee pad, and she would use it. She never once had an accident in her crate, as ill as she was, and that amazed me.

Try the blankets and see if it helps, it sure worked for her. And, they need to go often so I would try taking him outside or to his pad every couple hours. He may need to go during the night for awhile too. Good luck!!

Good luck!
