My Maggie also had bladder stones at age 8. I believe they were struvite. Recovery was easy . She did well and I read alot after that we went holistic and organic. Also we took alot of other precautions beacause I heard they easily come back to dogs who are prone to them. She made it to 16 with no other stones.
