I have had many animals spayed and various abdominal surgeries. First of all there is nothing wrong with babying her, just don't pick her up by the belly. The more she moves around, the better her bowels will move along. Second, if she has both been spayed and had hernia surgery her abdominals will be very sore. She uses them a lot to push to eliminate. Let her move at her own pace, just make sure she does not become constipated, then it will put a lot of pressure on those incisions. The pain will last a few days and then she will pop back and be herself. Make sure you keep an eye on the incisions for "abnormal" swelling, for popped sutures or bleeding. |
