 Seizures??
This morning, I was taking Misa out to potty, and all of a sudden she started shaking really bad and could barely walk. I immediately thought she was having a seizure and grabbed her and flew out of the house to the emergency Vet Hospital down the street. The Vet gave her valium, which didn't even touch her. He then gave her a muscle relaxant called Robaxin, which did help her. While she was having these "seizures", her pupils didn't respond and it was if she was blind. My daughter had to explain to the doctor what happened, as I was blubbering and couldn't form a complete sentence. After receiving the Robaxbin, Misa responded and the shaking stopped. The vet had inserted an IV, and she was receiving Plasma-lyte. The vet seemed to think she had come into contact with some sore of pesticide. I don't allow spraying inside my house, it's done outside. I have no other substances inside my home that could have caused this. It appears to be a mystery. I just called to check on her, and the Vet said she is doing remarkably well, and she may be able to come home around 8pm. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this? All her lab work was perfect, no liver shunt or any other abnormalities. This has never happened to her before and I'd appreciate any input. She will be 4 years old Aug. 28th. I've had her since she was 3months. |
