it cost me 38.00 per dog to have them chipped at my vet. then it costs 12.50 each through the akc companion animal micro chip program to have them registered and put in the data base. (one time fee for life time of your pet) once registered through akc companion you get stickers with the micro chip number and a yellow rubber tag for your pet's collar with the chip # and 1-800 number for recovery incase someone were to find your pet. it's a good program. it is expsensive if you have multiple dogs like i do, which is why it has taken me soooo long to get them all done....
