We are new Yorkie owners, our female is 16 weeks old, and love her so much we decided to get another. We found a male that was born on 05/02/2008 and we went to visit him tonight. We noticed his claws are light in color. Our current girl has always had black claws but we didn't even see her until she was 8 weeks old. We read somewhere that the nails should be black.

Is this common or are we looking at a problem? (i.e.-a mixed breed) The breeder said that they would turn dark, eventually black, as he got older.

Can anyone help???
