Did they check to see if he had any crystals or stones? That's very important. Sometimes when there's blood, there's stone/crystals...

Don't add anything salty to make your baby drink more because you could cause more problems that way.
Feed equal parts food to equal parts water. So, if you feed 1/4 cup of food at each feeding then add at least 1/4 cup of water to that food at each feeding. The more moisture he gets right now, the better. This helps keep his urine dilute to prevent stone formation.
Another thing you can do to get more moisture in him is to give him a little watermelon (no seeds). This is very high in moisture and safe.
