I got my yorkie about 2 months ago and he's 1 1/2 yrs. old. His coat was short when I got him and I just thought he'd been kept trimmed. But now, after 2 months, his fur doesn't seem to be getting any longer or softer and he has almost no fur on his underside. We brush him regularly even though he doesn't seem to enjoy it no matter how gentle we brush and we check his skin when we brush for any skin conditions. Except for how thin his fur is, he's beautiful--his coloring is deep rich black and a honey-red-gold combination. I've had dogs and cats all my life but this is a new one on me.

Is the lack of fur on his tummy normal? And is there any kind of supplement that I could feed him that would help his coat?
