Hello,

My 6 month old male pup, who was just neutered on Tuesday, was just diagnosed with cystitis last night! His urine was brown/reddish, and I knew that meant there was blood in it, so I took him to the emergency vet. Otherwise he was acting fine. Appetite was good, energy level was good. I was really scared and upset.

They gave him a 7 day course of antibiotics and hopefully it clears it up. But I will need to have him reassessed. I hope he does not have any stones.

They suggested that I have him drink LOTS of water, and I am trying. I have plenty of fresh water around my house, but he is just drinking his usual.

Does anyone have any advice of how to encourage him to drink more water??
