I know you don't want to change the food you're feeding, so the only thing you can do is to give her less of it and increase her exercise.

My vet told me to change Max's food to Hill's prescription W/D and that's helped him a lot. I'm not saying it's the highest quality of food out there, but he DID lose weight....we also had to stop feeding him scrambled egg whites, bits of toast and bread (dh did that, I only gave him the tail end of my egg whites).

I also started using his dry kibble as "treats" and don't put down a bowl for him to free feed from anymore. I measure his food religiously b/c I don't want him to get pancreatitis again, which my vet said was very likely due to the fact that he was overweight and his pancreas was being overworked.

Even a pound or two for them is like us having a 25-50 lb sack on our backs. When I realized that, I wasn't feeling so mean for giving him less food!
