It really isn't age dependent. Rather, it depends on their size, their "durability" and whether they're experiencing any hypoglycemia. For example, my Wylie was normal sized - and could move to 2x at a normal time frame (although I think we were free feeding at the time of his puppyhood). But with Marcel - since he was a tiny - I actually fed him 4x a day, then 3x a day - and I don't think I moved to 2x a day until he was around 11 mths old or so, bc of various issues. Now, he eats raw medallions 2x per day. So, it really depends....
