Very true. A friend of mine bred her yorkies. See has a gorgeous 3 lb. male and a 7 lb. female. She free whelped 6 puppies, but then she would have siezures. They bottle fed the puppies most of the time because she just wasn't able to produce enough milk. The vet told her no more breeding and she was fixed.
Half the puppies were larger than the dam at 12 wks old!!! It pays to study their pedigree and look at the last 3 to 5 generations.
