People hear are giving you good suggestions. If it is just a puppy...give the yorkie more time. Things to consider:

1) Take the dog out of the crate - perhaps baby gate in kitchen or a garage
2) Put music on while you are gone
3) Dog walker during the day - I did this for the last 6 months (great socialization and lets them get fresh air during the day)
4) Be consistent - if the dog bites say "NO!!" or ignore him
5) Take your yorkie to puppy training classes (at Petsmart, Petco, etc.). That will help teach your dog manners and you will learn to have more control
6) Keep a water bottle handy. Everytime your dog bites, spray it with water and say NO
7) Call a dog behavorist - this does cost money, but try any of the items 1-6 above first. Be consistent and only try one method only for at least 2 weeks.

Good luck. Most yorkies (from what I understand) are a hand full. They are very intelligent, stubborn and bossy little dogs! You need to let them know who is boss or you are in trouble! I'm encountering a "whinner" at the moment because we always given in. We are ignoring him every time he whines to teach him a lesson.

Take your dog on walks, don't stress (the dog will know you are!) and have play time (throw the ball and have your yorkie chase it).
