I too wouldn't worry about it at all and would just give them some time. If they aren't showing any signs of aggression, Rickles probaby just needs a little time to get used to having an energetic puppy around. Of course, dogs and puppies always seem drawn to the ones who don't care for them much almost as if they want to win them over. Once this happens I bet the puppy will start playing with Gleason and he will appreciate having a younger playmate.

Yes he got a name right away - in keeping with the others I named him Rooney, and good news he is now playing a lot with Gleason. Rickles will jump in and play some and then he will get up in a chair and watch them play. I guess I was just being overly sensitive about Rickles. Thanks for the well wishes.
