Mine wears his collar 24/7. I have never had an issue with it. It holds all his id tags including phone #'s.(He is also microchipped, just in case). When I take it off him for bath time he always begs for me to put in back on.
His collar is not used for walks-he has a harness. Also he is a larger Yorkie so the collar issue may be more significant to the tinies.
