That is sad!
Xavier was purchased from a flea market in Tupelo, MS as a gift for me. (This was prior to our learning about BYB's) Now we just found out about the puppy mill bust in Tupelo, and that the puppies were sold at flea markets. Our breeder" had a different name though, so maybe we're safe??? Anyway, my MIL almost bought a "Morkie" for me instead, but I gently tried to explain that I thought it'd be silly to pay what they were asking for a "designer mutt". His "breeder" gave my MIL his CKC papers and said he had a health guarantee, so we thought she must have been legit. Most people have no idea that its wrong to purchase from places like that. They hear "registered" and "health guarantee" and think that must be a good sign. Luckily, he is adorable and hasn't had any health issues praise God, but we will never buy another puppy from a place like that!
