I was lucky she gave birth to her first 7:14 am this morning and then all were born by 10:40 am . The vet gave her a shot of oxytocin and as of 9:19pm I am sure she has one reatined placenta. The vet said just call in the morning. Is antibiotics enough to prevent sepsis from occuring? Has anyone had to go through this? I thank God the whelping was fairly easy for her. |
I am still in the whelping room sleeping and have actually come out of there for the first time.. I stay up till around 4 a.m for the past two nights.. and then my hubby is up shortly after 6 to check on them.. he lets me sleep in a bit.. if I need a rest later in the day I lay down in there with her.. and then I am good to go late again.. I am hoping I will get through the day today as I was awake a few nights before her whelping.. so now I need to try to get back to some normal living....that is what I do..every couple hours I check to make sure they have full bellies..
