I brush my girls almost everyday, esp their faces and we do bathes at least once if not twice a week....they play outside alot and will often have leaves and junk in the hair, so we don't want them getting matted up!!

I would say start brushing him now so he learns what is expected of him...if you start at a young age, it will be much easier when his hair grows out!!
