Yorkie are very people oriented and I agree with the others who say they pick one person, and want to be with them. When you work in the office can't he go down with you? I don't think this would spoil him. I think it's important to do things like making him sit before you set his food down to eat, and don't allow him to eat until you give the release command. This helps establish your authority, but he'll still want to be with you. Some say that if you have two or more yorkies they bond more with each other than the human. I think of a spoiled dog as a scared, yappy, out of control dog, who doesn't know who is in control. Indulging your dog, pampering and loving them to pieces is a different kind of a spoiled dog, one that everyone enjoys being around. I also agree that training is important 5 minutes 3 times a day can make your dog feel like a valued member of the family.
